Garden Growth by Google Earth and Google Maps – 2013 – 2015 This is a Google Map of Parkdale Garden and Gathering Place with described markers and photos
This Google Maps screen capture shows the first circle of raised beds, and the main structure of the garden. There was a lot of activity that summer with lots of dirt and cedar onsite. Only the tarp full of dirt remained when this photo was taken. It has also been integrated into the garden.
In this image taken in late summer or early fall of 2015, we can see the Herb Circle, the Parkdale Station, the raised beds at the southern entrance with green fertilizer. Notice that the new row of compost bins are not yet built. The huge sand pile is by now a smaller sand pile moved to the SW of the site.
The Google background satellite view was probably captured in late summer or early fall of 2015 before the Brookfield Residential September 19 Volunteer Day when two new perennial beds were created.
On June 11, 2016 hundreds of new fruit trees, bushes and perennials were planted thanks to a TD Green Streets grant and the work of legions of volunteers.
In July 2016 a new rock garden was created.
