Calling all Rink Rangers

Hello Parkdale residents. The time is here for another season of hockey, and your support is needed to help with another winter season on the Parkdale Rink.

2018 was supposed to be the year we tore down our old rink, and built a transforming social space along with a new ice hockey rink. Although this project is currently on hold based on a recommendation from the City of Calgary, I can assure you the PCA Board of Directors is doing everything in its power to get this project back on track. We will keep our residents informed of the progress as we move through 2019.

As for this winter, we will be setting up the rink the same way as last year, which is basically just pouring water on the frozen sand. We will need a lot of flooding help initially, but once a base of ice forms on the sand, we will be able to get our ice up to good in no time. We have all the equipment ready to go, but we just need boots on the ground! If you are keen to help, and want to learn about creating an outdoor rink, or want to help in any capacity, please let us know.
